The lighting and electronics expert HELLA is an honoree for the renowned "NRW – Wirtschaft im Wandel" company contest. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Economic Affairs of the state North Rhine-Westphalia, companies representing the future sustainability of the state as an economic location are being recognized. In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, HELLA and its subsidiary and joint venture companies maintain seven sites totaling more than 8,000 employees. Especially the automotive supplier's leading role in view of the digital transformation was emphasized during the award ceremony.
"The automotive future is digital. For HELLA, this results in various opportunities along the entire value-added chain," said HELLA company spokesperson Dr. Markus Richter during the ceremony. "We, for example, advance the digitization of automotive lighting technology, work on software solutions for automated driving, optimize production processes using artificial intelligence methods and develop new digital business models for the aftermarket."
The company contest "NRW - Wirtschaft im Wandel" is organized by the campaign "Deutschland - Land der Ideen", in conjunction with the Rheinische Post, Deutsche Bank, auditing company PriceWaterhouseCoopers and organizational consultant Kienbaum. A renowned jury representing business, science, politics and society is tasked with selecting the winners.
