HELLA BHAP Electronics signed a project cooperation agreement with Zhenjiang local government

With the strong support of Zhenjiang local government, HELLA BHAP Electronics further improves its production preparation

Zhenjiang, June 19, 2019. The local government of Zhenjiang and HELLA BHAP Electronics (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. will continue their joint cooperation and have signed a respective agreement. Main attendants from the local government were Chen Keke, Deputy Mayor of Zhenjiang, Tan Qinlei, Director of Zhenjiang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and Xie Jibu, District Mayor of Dantu. The representative from BHAP is Xu Xiaojiang, Executive Vice President of Beijing BHAP Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., while Frank Petznick, Executive Vice President and responsible for the electronics business of HELLA in China, attended the ceremony on behalf of HELLA.

On the basis of the agreement between HELLA BHAP Electronics and the Zhenjiang local government, details for political rewards, subsidies and other ways of support have been further clarified. “Since the plant settled in Zhenjiang, the local government has given great attention and support. The just signed cooperation agreement will greatly help the newly established plant to further develop with high quality and efficiency”, said Frank Petznick at the occasion of the ceremony.

HELLA BHAP Electronics (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is the first electronics joint venture in China that HELLA has established with BHAP, China's third largest automobile components group. The factory, located in Dantu District, Zhenjiang, is currently under construction. The plant will initially comprise a production area of 7,000 square meters. It is planned to commence series production at the beginning of 2020 with the first product groups being components for lighting electronics, sunroof electronic control units and battery management system. The outlook is that the product portfolio will be targeted at the major market trend of energy efficiency and electrification.
