German economic delegation visited HELLA Electronics Shanghai

HELLA presents solutions for major automotive trends and its footprint in China

Shanghai, November 9th, 2018. On occasion of the opening of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), a trade fair attracting substantial public interest, the automotive supplier HELLA Shanghai Electronics had the honor of welcoming a group of German delegates on November 4th, 2018. The event spurred awareness of HELLA’s efforts in operational excellence and product innovation, with special focus on the Business Division Electronics China.

The 18 delegates represented German institutions such as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the German Consulate General in Beijing and Shanghai, the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), as well as German companies and parliamentary parties. Amongst them were Christian Hirte (State Secretary of Commerce), Simone Pohl (Executive Director German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai), Volker Treier (General Manager DIHK) and Claudia Spahl (German Vice Consul General Shanghai).

Frank Petznick, Executive Vice President of the Business Division Electronics China, highlighted in his welcome speech that “HELLA, as a leading global auto parts supplier, combines our passion with experience to help shape the future of mobility in China under the continuous support from the DIHK and the Chinese local government”. Lighting and electronics expert HELLA drives forth to explore innovative technologies and solutions for electrification, automated driving, digitalization and connectivity.

Accordingly, Peter Willemsen, Senior Vice President of the Business Division Electronics Technical Center China, introduced HELLA China’s R&D activities with exhibits representing the major trends that shape the automotive industry.

Zoltan Nemeth, General Manager of HELLA Electronics Shanghai, led the delegation for a plant tour introducing the local state-of-the-art production facilities. The visit finished with preview of the largest automated electronics warehouse amongst all global HELLA plants, currently still under construction.

HELLA will further develop and promote its advanced engineering capabilities in China - a market that continues to set trends and liberalizes economic regulation.
