Brake linings
The service life of a brake lining can vary depending on the vehicle, driving style and usage and therefore range anywhere from 15,000 km to 80,000 km. Influencing factors here include whether one drives a lot in town (stop-and-go traffic) or frequently uses the engine brake.
The ideal time to replace the brake lining depends on the individual wear pattern. When you are having your tires replaced in a specialist garage, it also makes sense to have the brakes checked as long as the wheels are off the vehicle. Late-model vehicles often feature an electronic wear indicator that illuminates as soon as the friction material undershoots a certain thickness.
Brake fluid
Your garage can quickly and easily check the brake fluid level of your vehicle. We recommend that you replace all brake fluid every 2 years as it can be diluted with water over time, which in turn decreases the performance of the fluid.
