2012: The first generation to be developed and produced on the basis of what is called the "modular transverse matrix", the VW Golf Mk7 features completely modified proportions. The geometrically striking headlamps are a fundamental component of the ultra-modern horizontal grille. HELLA supplies the powerful halogen headlamp in the independent aftermarket.
2008: Fall sees the launch of what is now the sixth generation of the VW Golf. Compared to the previous model, the only change is a gentle facelift with smoothed lines at the front end and the rear end. The HELLA headlamps, which are also slightly adapted in terms of their shape, blend harmoniously into the simple front end design of the VW Golf Mk6.
2003: The first model generation of the new millennium is even more striking. One defining element of the remodeled radiator grille comes in the form of the large, cutting-edge HELLA clear glass headlamps. They stretch out into the sideline and provide the VW Golf Mk5 with an unmistakable front end design.
1997: The fully galvanized VW Golf Mk4 is introduced with a smooth and simple design that has since become a classic on the road. The HELLA headlamps blend seamlessly into this design. For the first time, the headlamps and direction indicators are positioned under clear glass – winning over millions of drivers with this timeless look.
1991: The new decade brings with it a new model generation of the top-selling car in Germany. The body design is a response to the changes of the time and is considerably more round in appearance. On the other hand, the HELLA headlamps change for the first time – from round to almond-shaped – and provide an unmistakable look for the front end of the VW Golf Mk3.
1983: The follow-up model is inspired by the VW Golf Mk1 in terms of design and technology, but VW furnishes it with considerably more space. One of the trademark features is the high-quality finish. The HELLA headlamps – which are still round – also make an impression due to their outstanding quality, making a clearly visible statement to other road users: This is a VW Golf Mk2.
1974: The launch of the now legendary VW Golf Mk1, the founder of the compact class, heralds a new era in automotive development. One feature particularly catches the eye in the otherwise angular cult design created by Giugiaro: The circular HELLA headlamps, which will light the way for millions of vehicles on the streets of Germany and many other countries in the following years.
