Hella has partnered with Hubbell Lighting to bring to market an LED light engine that will be used in cobrahead-style lighting fixtures. Hella and Hubbell will have a cross-branding relationship where Hella provides design, development and manufacturing expertise and Hubbell provides marketing and distribution of the product.

The light engine is intended to provide municipalities and businesses with a high quality, long lasting, energy efficient lighting solution. Developed and manufactured in the USA, the light engine is integrated into a Roadway LED Retrofit Module that enables the conversion of existing street and area luminaries to maintenance-free LED technology. By utilizing Hella’s advanced LED technologies, customers can reduce costs associated with conventional street light maintenance. Total energy consumption is also reduced, which contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The light engine has been designed to replace 100 to150-watt high-pressure sodium and 175-watt mercury lamps and fixtures. Customers can purchase either a Roadway LED Retrofit Module to convert existing cobrahead fixtures or they can purchase a complete fixture from Hubbell’s RM series of roadway fixtures.
