Working vehicles such as tractors, trucks, cranes, earthmoving and construction vehicles have special work lamp needs. Careful selection of the right work environment lighting is essential to provide a bright and safe work place. Hella’s advanced Free Form and Xenon Gas Discharge Technologies provide efficient and powerful tools to achieve ideal workspace lighting.
Hella is a leader in the development of an innovative range of work lamps giving customers an unmatched choice of specialised work lighting solutions to meet almost every requirement.
Halogen Free-Form (FF) Technology
Conventional parabolic reflectors direct light into a beam that is focused and projected by a single lens optic. Hella’s FF technology uses over 50,000 computer-calculated reflector points to focus the light, thus significantly improving the light output and beam pattern.
- FF reflectors produce as much light output as three conventional lamps
- Reduction of installation time, power and maintenance costs
- Effective beam control directs light more accurately and evenly for reduced glare and eyestrain
LED Free-Form (FF) Technology LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting technology offers a number of decisive advantages over conventional globe technology for heavy-duty work environments where reliable and energy efficient lighting is essential. Hella’s first LED work lamp consumes only 7 watts of power in total – a reduction of more than 80% over traditional halogen work lamps. This results in minimal strain on both the alternator and battery, making LED FF technology the ideal lighting solution for machines with low alternator performance, electric stackers or vehicles with battery-assisted power supplies. The combination of four high-performance Luxeon Power LEDs and high-sheen, metallised FF reflector delivers long lasting light output and uniform illumination.
- LEDs are resistant to shock and vibration
- Long lasting light output of more than 10,000 hours
- Multivolt® circuitry ensures a consistent level of light intensity at any input voltage between 12 and 24 volt
- Can be connected to either 12 or 24V DC systems without modification
Xenon Gas Discharge (XGD) Technology
Xenon globes use an electric current passed through xenon gas, rather than a filament, to produce light. Not only does this method require minimal electric current draw compared to filament lighting, it also produces a light very close to daylight.
Hella’s high-performance XGD work lamps are offer a number of decisive advantages:
- Wider spread beam pattern (up to three times as large) and more uniform illumination
- Twice the light output of standard halogen lamps at less than half the power consumption
- Light colour very similar to daylight – reduced eyestrain and fatigue
- Steady brightness levels even if power supply varies
- Impact and vibration resistant light arc for ultra long service life (five times longer than standard halogen globes)
- Extremely robust construction – suitable for continuous use under heavy-duty conditions
- Available for 12 and 24V DC applications
