Repeat assignment for Hella headlamps in the Aston Martin Racing Team

HELLA and the Aston Martin Racing Team have been cooperating in the Le Mans Series since 2009. The technology partnership agreement sees HELLA supplying headlamps for all Aston Martin racing cars.

HELLA has supplied the Aston Martin Racing Team's new GTE model with ultra-modern headlamps for this year's racing season. The HELLA lighting concept was developed in conjunction with the Aston Martin Racing Team and has been used successfully during the past two racing seasons. It meets the requirements of high illumination coupled with reduced overall weight. The spotlights are based on the Luminator Compact Xenon and have been adapted to the vehicle front to optimum effect. The Luminator Compact Xenon is one of the top products in HELLA’s auxiliary headlamp range and guarantees white Xenon light almost the colour of daylight that lights up the road for almost 500 metres. In addition, the lighting concept includes 90-millimetre Xenon modules. Whenever the route of the 24-hour race passes down unlit roads with poor visibility, or when bad weather reduces visibility in the daytime, it is all the more important to have optimum lighting equipment.

Aston Martin Racing: Aston Martin, Britain’s most exclusive sports car company, made a comeback to international motor sport with the DBR9 in 2005. The new Aston Martin Racing division was created in partnership with Prodrive, the leading motor sport and automotive technology specialist worldwide. Prodrive is responsible for Aston Martin’s racing activities all over the world, as well as for all aspects of racing car production and development. The DBR9 was successful in its very first race in 2005, the Sebring 12-hour race. Aston Martin Racing then won the GT1 class in Le Mans with the DBR9 in both 2007 and 2008. In 2009, the Aston Martin Racing Team won the Le Mans Series Championship with the LMP1 racing car. Aston Martin is the only manufacturer to have racing cars in every FIA GT category. More than 100 Aston Martin racing cars have been produced since 2005.
