HELLA unveils world premiere at Agritechnica 2013

High-power LED worklights with plastic heat sinks from HELLA ensure ideal light output // Thermally conductive plastics for optimum LED heat dissipation


Lippstadt, October 28, 2013. Lighting and electronics expert HELLA is unveiling innovative lighting and electronics solutions for agricultural machinery at Agritechnica, the world's leading international exhibition for agricultural machinery and equipment taking place from November 12 to 16, 2013 in Hanover, Germany. Visitors can discover the extensive worklight range at booth K310 in hall 1. HELLA will be taking advantage of the exhibition to unveil a world premiere in this segment; high-power LED worklights with plastic heat sinks which set new standards in design freedom and weight reduction. Electrical and electronics solutions for agricultural machinery will also be highlighted, including diverse components, energy management and drive train products and the prototype of a new wireless control system for agricultural machinery manufacturers.

In contrast to the existing worklights with plastic housings available on the market, the new high-power LED worklights with plastic heat sinks from HELLA, even in their smallest versions, can achieve light outputs comparable with or better than xenon technology. Thermally conductive plastics are used in place of aluminum heat sinks, dissipating LED heat and thereby ensuring a long design life. A key advantage over aluminum is their all-round corrosion resistance, and the innovative products are also lighter and offer an excellent basis for flexible design solutions. In combination with the similarly new glass-fiber reinforced plastic brackets, the high-power LED worklights with plastic heat sinks from HELLA provide even greater safety in daily use. Alongside its innovative plastics technology, HELLA will also be presenting many other new products from the worklights range: the Ultra Beam LED now adds an LED variant to the successful Ultra Beam range. HELLA is also showing new worklight product lines for attachment and installation, including the ultra-compact 50 millimeter LED worklight range and the 90 millimeter LED module.

Visitors to the exhibition booth can also find out about innovative electrical and electronics solutions for agricultural machinery: for example, HELLA will be unveiling energy management products such as an intelligent battery sensor or the voltage stabilizer. Also on show will be oil level sensors and gas pedals from the drive train business and diverse components such as actuators, rotation angle sensors and rain / light sensors. The prototype of a new wireless control system for agricultural machinery manufacturers will be another highlight at the exhibition. A robust remote control with one or two buttons as required can, for example, be used to unlock the cab door. The second button can be assigned other functions - lights, for example, can be switched on or off or flaps opened and closed. If required, the remote control can also be printed with a logo. In cooperation with Fritzmeier, an OEM for manufacturers of off-highway and commercial vehicles, HELLA will demonstrate this electronics solution in the cab of an agricultural machine at the exhibition booth.
