Lippstadt, Germany, May 28, 2014. The lighting expert HELLA is presenting the latest worklights, beacons and accessories for mining vehicles at Hillhead, the largest trade fair for quarrying, construction machinery and recycling, taking place at Buxton/England right in Hillhead's quarry. From 24 to 26 June 2014 the main focus will be on LED lighting at HELLA's stand (PA 37).

One of the high spots will be the powerful AS 5000 LED worklight, which was developed specially for use on mining vehicles. Equipped with 24 high-performance LEDs, this headlamp illuminates the range of operation with an optimum homogeneous light, so ensuring safe working without fatigue. With a power consumption of only 60 Watts this LED worklight delivers a luminous efficiency of 5000 lumens and is thus especially energy-efficient. Equipped with a dimmer / dip function, this also prevents other vehicle drivers being dazzled. Thanks to the special non-stick and easy to clean surface coating and a heavy-duty mounting bracket this robust LED worklight can cope with the harsh conditions underground. It is designed for extreme temperatures (-40°C to +50°C) and is also insensitive to strong vibrations and jarring.

Another extremely sturdy product is the Power Beam 3000 LED worklight with its shock-resistant lens made of a special polymer material. Living up to HELLA's high standards in terms of performance and quality, it is particularly resistant to vibrations, heat and UV as well as being 100% watertight and dust-proof. This means it is ideally suited to use in the mining sector with its extreme conditions. Featuring innovative LED technology, this headlamp ensures optimum illumination of the range of operation and is also maintenance-free thanks to the exceptionally long lifetime of the LEDs. In addition, the Power Beam 3000 is suitable for multi-voltage applications (9 to 33 Volts). It features polarity inversion and overheating protection and keeps the temperature at the lens and housing low thanks to optimum temperature management.

With the HypaLUME HELLA is expanding its range of worklights to the next level. This headlamp provides perfect lighting in any work situation with more than 20 000 lumens and several illumination variants. Measuring 500 x 380 x 170 millimeters, the HypaLUME is ideal for use in mining or heavy construction machinery.

Visitors to HELLA's stand will be able to admire a product from its range of beacons: the K-LED 2.0. This sturdy beacon has also been designed to cope with the tough demands of the construction and mining industry. The K-LED 2.0 is HELLA's first beacon that allows drivers to choose between a rotating and flashing pattern using a switch or programming depending on the work conditions. 20 high-performance LEDs and a special reflector deliver optimum illumination to ensure the signal is noticed immediately. It is also equipped with a sensor which registers ambient light and automatically adjusts brightness based on the data captured (daytime / night-time levels). This ensures the best possible warning effectiveness during the day while reducing brightness at night to prevent dazzling others.
