HELLA lights up IFAT, the Environmental Technology trade fair, with its pioneering lighting and electronic solutions

Lippstadt, Germany, April 28, 2014. At the world's largest trade fair for green technology, IFAT, which is being held in Munich from May 5-9, 2014, HELLA, the international automotive supplier, will be showcasing a treasure trove of innovative lighting and electronic solutions. On display at the exhibition on Stand 427 located in Hall C3 can be found products dealing with front and rear lighting, rotating beacons and also worklights. But the special focus will be shining on cutting-edge solutions in LED technology. This kind of technology is so far ahead of the curve not only because of its powerful light output and low energy consumption but also because its guaranteed long service life boasts high levels of reliability. The portfolio of products presented on the exhibition stand is rounded off by a mix of amazing new electronic solutions for municipal vehicles. Another important aspect taking centre stage is the cost-saving issue - something particularly relevant for the requirements of fleet operators such as municipalities. This exhibition also sees HELLA, for the first time, presenting a new full LED combination rear lamp designed for towing vehicles and trailers. All the lighting functions of this product (tail light, stop light, direction indicator, rear fog lamp and also the back-up light) have been solely equipped with LED technology. The tail light, in combination with the reflex reflector, is generated by means of a ground-breaking flat LED light guide. And this light guide succeeds in producing illumination which is especially homogeneous. The result is that the tail light function, with its surface area of around 145 cm², is particularly well lit up and very visible in the dark, ensuring more safety on the road when driving in night-time traffic. The exceptionally flat light (40 millimeters) with its impact-resistant lens, is also extremely resistant to all manner of vibrations. It can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, from the front by using two screws or from behind by means of mounting bolts. The new full LED combination rear lamp from HELLA is available in a variety of frame colors from June 2014 onwards.

Yet another highlight to be admired at the exhibition stand is the new Q90 LED high-performance worklight with plastic cooling elements. When it comes to freedom of design and to success in minimizing the weight of lamps, the German lighting specialist is setting new trends with its heat-conducting housing of synthetic material. Unlike worklights with plastic housings that have been available on the market up to now, this new high-performance worklight with plastic cooling elements means that HELLA is able to attain or even exceed light output comparable to xenon technology. And this is also the case in very small designs. Instead of the usual aluminum cooling elements, special heat-conducting plastics are used, which dissipate the heat of the LEDs optimally, thus ensuring a very long service life. In addition, the complete corrosion resistance of the plastics makes up a huge advantage over the aluminum. Furthermore, these LED worklights are lighter in weight and offer the best conditions for the creating of flexible solutions when it comes to design. And with the benefits of the also newly developed glass-fiber reinforced plastic brackets, the high-performance worklights from HELLA with plastic cooling elements offer even more reliability during normal day-to-day use.
