HELLA Flat Beam 500: Efficient worklight in a compact housing

Lippstadt, March 18, 2013. As part of its appearance at Bauma, the international specialist convention for construction machinery in April, HELLA presented the Flat Beam 500, the compact LED worklight. The new worklight expands the existing product range of the energy-efficient Flat Beam series with a compact but flexible variant. With a 30 mm housing, the new Flat Beam 500 is ideally suited for mounting jobs where space is premium, for example on the back panel of a truck. Even in this position, the Flat Beam 500 can achieve a beam angle of approx. 45 degrees, and with a light power of 550 lumens guarantees a secure and even illumination of the work area. A total of 30 LEDs consume only 7 watts of power - generating a comparable amount of light requires a halogen lamp with around 55 watts.

The Flat Beam 500 worklight can be operated with both 12 V and 24 V systems. The integrated electronics protect the device from overvoltage in the event of polarity inversion and guarantee constant brightness, even when operating with voltage fluctuations between 9 and 33 Volts. Thanks to its synthetic material housing, the Flat Beam 500 is protected against corrosion and is therefore suitable for long periods of use in the open air.
