Lippstadt, Germany, October 13, 2015. Lighting expert HELLA will be exhibiting at METS, the international trade fair for marine equipment and accessories from November 17 to 19, 2015 in Amsterdam, showcasing innovative LED lighting systems for illuminating ships and boats (hall 1/booth 01.345), ranging from navigation lamps and deck floodlights to interior, exterior and accent lighting and lights for the machine room. Energy is often a scarce resource out at sea. For this reason, efficient LED lighting plays a decisive role when it comes to reducing power consumption on board. With this in mind, HELLA uses innovative LED technology, which not only has low power consumption, but also offers additional benefits such as flexible designs, a long service life and no need for maintenance. Product highlights that await visitors at the trade fair booth include the EuroLED 75 interior and exterior light and fourth generation Module 70 LED deck floodlight.

At the METS, HELLA will be presenting the new ceiling light EuroLED 75 for on-board exterior and interior lighting, for use on the flybridge and on the foreship and for illuminating cabins and wetrooms, for example. This light has a sophisticated optics system which creates a wide beam of very homogenous illumination. The appearance of the light is itself homogeneous and the individual LEDS are concealed when it is switched on and when it is switched off, avoiding any unpleasant glare from very bright single LEDs. The light is easy to install: it can be secured with screws or a sprung clip holder and comes pre-cabled for a standard circular cut-out. Only the highest quality materials have been used to manufacture the hermetically sealed EuroLED 75. They will not corrode, fade or become brittle in the tough marine environment. Innovative thermally conductive materials based on ceramics provide the optimum means to disperse the heat created by the LEDs, extending the life of the light substantially. The ceramic-filled plastic housing is completely corrosion-proof. The EuroLED 75 light is guaranteed for five years.

With its Module 70 LED Generation IV, HELLA has introduced a compact deck floodlight that offers very high light output. For the first time, it has been possible for this compact construction to achieve LED light outputs comparable to those of xenon lights. Equipped with 3 high-performance multichip LEDs, the Module 70 LED is rated to 2,500 lumens while consuming just 30 watts of energy. Pre-fitted with marine cable, this worklight can be installed quickly. Furthermore, it is coated with the new CoroSafe technology from HELLA which is particularly suitable for the tough marine climate. Two extra layers and the combination of different coating processes offer improved protection from damage and make the headlamp substantially more resistant to corrosion. The Module 70 LED is therefore ideal for use in the difficult conditions at sea.
