HELLA supplies a range of innovative driver assistance systems to enhance driver comfort, convenience and safety. Our highest-selling product is the HELLA lane change assistant, which is based on 24-GHz radar sensors. It constantly monitors the area behind the car when passing or changing lanes, and warns the driver about vehicles approaching from the rear or in the next lane over. Another device that also uses 24-GHz radar sensors is our distance alarmunit, which alerts the driver when the car has less than the optimum following distance, but does not automatically intervene in the drive train. HELLA has also launched a triple-function camera that recognizes lane markings and traffic signs as well as supporting the adaptive/glare-free high beam function. The lane departure warning assistant moves the vehicle back to the center of the lane as soon as the driver gets too close to the lane markings.
